Oklahoma is not OK

March15

First we have Oklahoma representative Sally Kern bashing homosexuals and actually saying they are more a threat to this country than terrorism. Not that I think terrorism is a huge threat to our country, I think it’s mostly fear mongering. But people like rep Kern do believe that terrorism is a major threat so this statement is a bold one coming from her.

Just in case you’ve been under a rock for the past couple of weeks, here’s the video where you can hear exactly what she said. Click here for a direct link to the video.

And now the Oklahoma’s Court of Criminal Appeals have voted 4-1 that 34-year-old Riccardo Ferrante wasn’t in the wrong when he put a camera up a 16 year old girl’s skirt and took a photo.

Appeals Judge Gary Lumpkin (the single dissenting voter), wrote, “What this decision does is state to women who desire to wear dresses that there is no expectation of privacy as to what they have covered with their dress. In other words, it is open season for peeping Toms in public places who want to look under a woman’s dress.”

So, way to go Oklahoma for being so friendly toward your women and GLBT community! *end sarcasm*
